The invention relates to the field of utilization of seaweed waste resources, in particular to an enterobacter cloacae strain and application of the same in degradation of brown seaweed. The enterobacter cloacae strain is inoculated into the brown seaweed according to the inoculation amount of 1-5%; through fermentation culture under the conditions of the temperature being 28-32 DEG C, the pH being 7-11, the stirring speed being 180-240rpm and the ventilatory capacity being 0.1-0.4VVM, the brown seaweed can be degraded. The fermentation process of the enterobacter cloacae strain is stable andcontrollable, the fermentation cycle is short, the product has a remarkable effect, and the enterobacter cloacae strain is suitable for large-scale production.
