AbstractOn the geologic time scale, the Earth’s atmosphere changed from reductive to oxidizing after the Great Oxidation Event, which resulted in the lack of iron in the marine environment and increased bioavailability of copper. On the spatial scale, the bioavailability of both metal elements decreases from offshore to pelagic areas. These changes have had a profound effect on the photosynthesis of algae. In order to adapt to the iron-deficient marine environment, algae have carried out a series of evolutionary and physiological adaptations, especially reflected in the structure and composition of algal photosynthesis. This paper, from both evolutionary and physiological perspectives, reviewed the strategies of algal photosynthesis in response to environmental changes of iron and copper concentrations .
Other Abstract在地质时间尺度上,大氧化事件后地球大气从还原性变成了氧化性,造成了海洋环境中铁元素的缺乏,同 时增加了铜元素的生物利用性;在空间尺度上,从近海到远洋,这两种金属元素的生物可利用性都下降。 这些变化对 藻类的光合作用产生了深远的影响,藻类为了适应缺铁的海洋环境进行了一系列的进化适应和生理适应,尤其反映在 光合作用的结构和组成上。 本文分别从进化生物学和生理学两个角度,综述了藻类在光合作用方面响应环境中的铁 和铜元素浓度变化的策略。
